Take Notice…

You have to give credit when its due.

A special shout out goes to Jon Woo, my brother from another for his placement on the highly anticipated Wu-Tang and D-Block collab album Wu Block. Never the one to shy away from sharing his trials and tribulations in the music industry, Woo recently retired from actively producing in 2010. But in candid conversations he let me know, he would never give up  his goal of  having the Wu-Tang Clan rhyme over one of his tracks to the point he even waited backstage for hours to meet members of the clan.

I can honestly say the game has come full circle for my man…

His name was giving to him for his fondness of the Wu-Tang Clan, it just so happened he was part Asian… He started rapping and producing because of the Wu and upon his exit gets the opportunity to produce for them. That’s cold!! Truly a testament on never giving up on your goals, no matter how lofty they seem or what twists and turns life has in store.

In our last conversation, Woo humble as ever told me “Man, I made that beat before I met you… wait till the next one”

Mission Statement

2005 gave rise to the dawn of a new era in Louisville, Kentucky. Tired of being entranced by the endless drone of hyper-consumerism, a collective of people was formed to reject what was being spoon fed to us by popular culture. A crew of people who initially shared a love of sneakers evolved into a consortium of like-minded individuals passionate about using their talents to raise awareness of youth culture in Louisville.

Saving Our Style is a creative outlet for those who have more to offer the world than what has been previously accepted by the masses. Our goal is to nurture youth and street culture in a positive manner. ALL CREWS UNITED is our rallying cry….
