Home away from home: Venice Beach X Santa Monica Beach
I was never one to believe in love at first site, but Venice Beach provided me that first experience. With the wide array of eccentric personalities I felt totally at home. Think of it as a combination of NuLu and Bardstown road times 100. There were skateboarders, Rollerbladers, Graf Artists, musicians, panhandlers, small shops, resturants, and beach front condos playing music and scouting tourists. The vibe was so amazing as everyone I encountered was friendly and extremely laid back.
Muscle Beach is real. The same beach that Arnold Schwarzenegger, Hulk Hogan, and John Cena made a name is still flowing with weight lifting enthusiasts.
If you stroll up the boardwalk a few miles on bike or by foot you would soon land on Santa Monica Beach. It is were the famous pier that so many movies have featured the huge ferris wheel. With Store fronts of all shapes and sizes around, there is no need to every leave the beach.
