Eastbay (Replay Value)
Long before the internet changed the sneaker industry and well before the leakage of product/catalog shots, sneaker heads had one almanac to go by… The Eastbay, in the 90′s if you had an Eastbay you felt like the man, you personally were privy to exclusive information and were the covert agent destined to share the information. I never knew what time to expect the latest issue to arrive, but I was always patiently waiting.
When a new issue would arise you had some preparation to do, knowing throughout the day you would have to wage battle against friends who would try to hog reading time and teachers that would confiscate the catalog at the mere sight of the colorful cover. Just thinking about these days brings back an instant rush of memories…
Inspired by days long gone, this replay value is an ode to those times. With the help of a friend, we did some digging and surfaced with scans of vintage Eastbay’s from the past. Hope you enjoy… @thekickoppa
